About your sky & credits

Calculated on your device using Astronomy Engine. All looks share the same moment, location and HYG horizon star positions, including proper motion and precession. The classic map has north at the top and east on the left. The open sky uses a rectangular horizon projection, facing the Sun during daylight/twilight and south at night. Artistic colours are not simulated weather or a promise of naked-eye visibility. Dates: 1900–2100.

The Moon That Night is a commemorative phase portrait, not a sky-location chart. Its phase and illuminated-limb orientation are calculated for your moment and place, including below-horizon moments. Its crater surface is our original procedural artistic interpretation—not a photograph or an exact lunar atlas. Surrounding calculated stars are composed around the Moon, never on top of it. The tree is an original, replaceable silhouette.

Places: GeoNames, CC BY 4.0, with IANA time zones. Daylight-saving gaps are rejected; repeated times offer both occurrences. Your words and moment are not sent to an astronomy or location service.
