With a little imagination and a tiny bit of Photoshop skill, it’s possible to create something really special for your wall.

Although we have many photographers and artists amongst our customers, we’re also aware that many of you have only very limited Photoshop skills, but that doesn’t mean you can’t create digital collages with relative ease. All that is required is a large blank file in Photoshop, a selection of images, and a very basic understanding of layers.

Well, classically, a collage is used to create a themed piece to be printed quite large – maybe a collection of photos of family, a particular holiday or event, a birthday or party, or even your pets. In a recent post, we talked about creating a triptych of abstract images from stock photos or by playing around in Photoshop yourself. This is a great way to build a really interesting abstract collage, and can look great as a conversation piece on your wall.

Another exciting way to use canvases to create something spectacular for your wall is to split an image into three and print on separate canvases. This kind of triptych has been used for years to add interest to an image, but we recommend taking this to a whole other level.
