Spring Inspired Canvas Print Tips
Spring is definitely our favourite season for photography, and this week we’re going to show you why with some great canvas print tips to inspire you to get out, have some fun with your camera and then use the images for display.
Canvas prints – whatever the weather!
A sunny day is, of course, perfect for a stroll in the countryside with your camera, but we can’t share any seasonal tips without making allowances for the good old British weather! Yes, there’s no escaping it, your spring photography adventures are likely to be interrupted by the rain, so use these tips to help you to make use of it...
Dress your kids up in matching wellies and raincoats and head out for some puddle-splashing fun! Great, vibrant shots to brighten up a wet day!
Umbrellas make great props for kids and adults alike. You could try a strobist approach by hiding an off-camera flash in an umbrella for a spectacular downlit portrait in the rain.
Showcase the natural world
Spring is all about the awakening daffodils and bluebells and blossoming trees, so be sure to include these on your photo checklist this year.
When photographing flowers it’s important to think about the light and background – especially if you’re planning on using the images for canvas prints. Misty mornings give the light a softness that compliments blooming flowers, and late afternoon sunshine is the perfect backdrop for a different style of flower portrait. Yes, like all photography, it’s important to follow the light!
Golden hour
Golden hour (the last hour of sunshine before sunset) is always a wonderful time to be out with a camera, and spring is no different.
The beauty of spring’s golden hours, however, is that your kids are still awake to enjoy it too! This makes it the perfect time to take your little ones to the park for a photo session in that gorgeous light.
Shoot them with the sun backlighting them for dreamy images, or bathed in the sun for the perfect candid canvas prints to give to their grandparents as a gift.
We love spring and hope that these canvas print tips help you to get the most out of your camera this season – and if you can think of any other great ideas for spring photography drop us a line, we’d love to hear from you!
