A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS
Before you start.
Is my photograph good enough to print?
Use the highest-quality original photograph you have; the size you choose affects how much detail it can reproduce. Our team checks your image before printing, and the creator helps you review the crop at your chosen size.
Can I choose a custom size?
Yes. Enter your width and height in the Canvas Builder using inches or centimetres. The builder checks the supported dimensions and calculates the price for your size.
What happens around the canvas edges?
Gallery wrap continues your photograph around the sides; mirror sides keep the photograph on the front and reflect its edges around the frame. You can also choose plain sides in the creator and review the result before ordering.
Can your studio help position my photograph?
Yes. Choose the studio positioning option in the Canvas Builder and our team will position your photograph for your selected size. You can add a note with anything you would like the studio to consider.
Can I add a floating frame or hanging kit?
Yes. Floating frames and hanging kits are optional extras in the Canvas Builder and cost extra. The creator shows the available choices and updated price before you order.
What paper do you print on?
We print photo posters on 230gsm matte fine-art paper. Its smooth, low-glare finish suits photographs and artwork.
Which sizes can I choose?
Popular photo poster sizes run from A5 to A1. You can also enter your own dimensions within the supported limits; the creator shows the price for your chosen size.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Enter the print width and height in the Poster Builder, within its supported limits. If you are fitting an existing frame, measure the print or insert rather than the outside of the frame.
Can I print my photograph in black and white?
Yes. Choose Black & White in the photo creator and check the preview before ordering. You can return to Original if you prefer the colour version.
Does my poster come framed?
No. Photo posters are supplied unframed, ready for your own frame. Choose a standard size or enter the dimensions you need.
Does the map show the sky from my date and location?
Yes. The creator calculates star positions using your date, local time and location. Stars shown on a chart are not a promise of naked-eye visibility, particularly in daylight or twilight.
What if I don’t know the exact time?
You can use an approximate time and explore the preview, but changing the time changes the sky. Use a recorded local time when possible, or choose a meaningful moment you remember.
Can I change the design and wording?
Yes. Choose a look in the creator and add your own title and personal message. Preview the artwork and wording together before ordering.
Can I order it as a canvas or poster?
Yes. Choose Canvas or Poster in the Star Map creator. Available sizes depend on the artwork; the creator shows the supported options and price.
Is there a free digital download?
Yes. The creator offers a free JPG download for supported artwork, without a basket or payment. Physical canvas and poster prints are separate paid options.
Can I use my own words and names?
Yes. Each design has editable wording fields for its individual positions, or a multiline field for a longer passage. Decorative marks remain part of the design.
Can I change the colours and layout?
You can choose a different design and try the available colour palettes and typography in the live preview. Each design has its own arrangement of wording fields, rather than a free-form layout editor.
Can I preview my design before ordering?
Yes. Your words, colours and typography update the artwork as you go. Check the spelling and finished arrangement in the creator before ordering.
Can I order my design as a canvas or poster?
Yes. Word Art is available as a canvas or an unframed poster. Sizes and orientation depend on the selected design, with the available choices and price shown in the creator.
How many photographs can I include?
Choose a layout with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 13 or 20 photograph positions. The number depends on the layout you select.
Can I rearrange and position each photograph?
Yes. You can rearrange and adjust photographs within your chosen layout, and choose the spacing and background. Check the finished arrangement before downloading or ordering.
What if my photographs have different shapes or sizes?
Adjust each photograph within its position in the layout and check the crop in the preview. Use the highest-resolution originals you have, especially for photographs taking up more space in the collage.
Can I order my collage as a canvas or poster?
Yes. Choose a canvas or an unframed poster in the collage creator. Collage prints use predetermined sizes, with the available format and size options shown before you order.
