Star Maps
Are personalised star maps accurate?
By Your Image 2 Canvas
Our creator uses your date, local time and place to calculate the moment. The design you choose decides how that moment is presented. A circular sky chart, a Moon portrait and an atmospheric sky are different ways to remember it.

A sky chart and a Moon portrait do different jobs
The Sky in Focus is the familiar circular chart. In our Mara and Ellis demonstration, we chose Ink & paper, kept faint constellation lines and switched on the sky grid. Its Moon marker indicates position, rather than showing the Moon as a large phase portrait.
The Moon That Night puts the Moon at the centre. Its phase and illuminated orientation are calculated for your moment. The crater surface is an artistic interpretation, rather than a photograph taken that night.

The colours and scenery are design choices
The cloud and light treatments in The Sky, Remembered do not reconstruct historical weather. The Earth in The World Beneath the Stars is artistic scenery, rather than a satellite view of your chosen address.
A map can also include stars someone would not have seen through cloud, twilight or local lighting. Treat it as a calculated representation of the moment, rather than a record of everything visible from the garden.
For a more detailed chart
The Celestial Atlas adds a considered information key and detailed chart presentation. Choose The sky above you for the observer-centred overhead view, and read the view explanation in the creator.

Check the moment before the message
Confirm the date, enter local time and select the matching place result. Check the time-zone confirmation underneath. Our time and place guide helps with births, weddings and uncertain times.
Then choose the look you enjoy. Our six-design guide shows the different styles together, with links to try them.
From artwork to a finished canvas
These photographs from our Star Map page show real finished prints and their physical finish. They are existing workshop examples, separate from the fictional designs we made for this guide.

See the Star Map print options when you are ready to choose the format. Posters are supplied unframed; a floating frame is an optional canvas extra.
