Star Maps

What should I write under a star map?

By Your Image 2 Canvas

Choose a short line that explains why the moment matters. A name and a sentence you would actually say to that person are usually enough.

In our creator, open Your words to change the main headline and personal message. You can also use the optional small line above the sky or a short closing line. The Celestial Atlas has an artwork-title field as well.

For a new arrival

Our fictional Noah example uses The Moon That Night in Blue-silver, with “HELLO, LITTLE ONE” above the Moon and “Our world grew a little bigger.” beneath his name.

You could also try:

  • The day our world grew.
  • A little hello. A whole new world.
  • Welcome to our favourite adventure.

The name and a simple welcome can carry the whole design. Check the birth details with the family before finishing the map.

For a home or a new beginning

The words can be about a place as much as a person. Our World Beneath the Stars example pairs “HOME, AT LAST” with “Our place in the world” and a short family message.

Replace those lines with your house name, a family saying or something you would like to remember about that first evening.

For a wedding or the night you met

Our Under This Sky example uses Alex and Ellis, followed by “One evening. A whole new chapter.” Other starting points are “Our day. Our sky. Our story.” or “Still my favourite person.”

An inside joke might mean more than a polished romantic line. Change the words until they sound like you.

Use the preview to keep it simple

Read the spelling and punctuation, then look at the line breaks and the whole composition. If a message feels squeezed, remove the words you do not need. The creator provides the design; the text fields do not let you draw a new illustration or freely rearrange every element.

Choose from the six Star Map styles, and use our moment guide for the date and place. For a separate decorative AI design, try the custom examples and prompts.

From artwork to a finished canvas

These photographs from our Star Map page show real finished prints and their physical finish. They are existing workshop examples, separate from the fictional designs we made for this guide.
